Joshua Redman performing in Orlando

One of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists is coming to Orlando this week.

Joshua Redman will perform on Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 25, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (445 S. Magnolia Avenue).

The son of jazz saxophonist Dewey Redman, Joshua loved playing the saxophone and always made academics his first priority.

After graduating from Harvard, Redman was on his way to Yale Law School when he took a trip to New York, fell in love with the jazz scene, and moved to pursue his passion.

Redman has released sixteen albums over his career, including Wish, Timeless Tales, Syill Dreaming, Sun on Sand, and Where We Were. He has also won six awards, including JazzTimes Best New Artist, DownBeat Critics Poll Album of the Year, and Jazz Artist of the Year.
