Orlando pedestrian hit and killed crossing local roadway

A 63-year-old woman was killed after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a roadway in Osceola County.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Celebration Avenue on Friday, March 1, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman, who was from Orlando, was walking northbound across the travel lanes of Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at around 10:11 p.m. At the time, she was not in a marked crosswalk.

While she was walking, she entered the direct path of a 2018 Ford F-150 that was traveling westbound on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, approaching Celebration Avenue.

She was struck by the vehicle, which was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Kissimmee.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
