1 killed, 1 injured in Orlando shooting during landlord-tenant dispute


Orlando police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another injured on Thursday morning.

At around 11 a.m., Orlando Police Department officers responded to a home in the 800 block of Dorado Avenue in reference to shots being fired.

According to OPD, officers learned that two armed men had come to the residence to settle a dispute between a landlord and tenant. An argument ensued at the home, which resulted in both men being shot by the tenant.

One of the male victims sustained fatal injuries in the shooting and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified by OPD as 40-year-old Angel Luis Santos.

The second male victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The names of the second victim and tenant were not released by police.

“At this time, all parties involved have been identified and we are not looking for anyone outstanding,” stated the Orlando Police Department in a media release.  

The police department added that the investigation is active and ongoing. No further details were provided.
