Body found in burned SUV after carjacking in Winter Springs, suspects at large

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two suspects wanted in connection with the armed carjacking and murder of a woman on Thursday evening.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, a witness recorded a possible carjacking in progress at the intersection of E Lake Drive and Tuskawilla Road in the Winter Springs area, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the video, an armed male suspect was observed pointing a weapon at a woman, identified as 31-year-old Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas, who was driving a white Dodge Durango.

The male suspect was then observed on the footage entering the victim’s vehicle through the back driver’s side door.

A second suspect, also believed to be a white or Hispanic male, was traveling in a green Acura sedan with an obscured license plate. The second suspect drove immediately behind the victim’s Durango after the first suspect entered the vehicle, according to SCSO.

At around 7 p.m. on Thursday, witnesses in Osceola County reported hearing gunshots. SCSO stated that the victim’s SUV was later discovered, and it had been set on fire.

Inside the SUV, law enforcement discovered a body that was “badly burned.” Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma stated that DNA and dental records are needed to make a positive identification, but investigators “strongly believe its (Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas).”

Sheriff Lemma advised that the Acura was seen “repeatedly ramming” the back of the victim’s vehicle shortly before the carjacking. The victim called her husband who told her “not to stop.”

The victim’s husband told law enforcement that she was in the area to visit family members.

“We’re incredibly concerned about that Acura,” stated Sheriff Lemma. “Both (suspects) should be considered armed and dangerous.”

The investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 407-665-6650.
