Willie Kusimo

Willie Kusimo, age 69, of Winter Park, Florida passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at AdventHealth Winter Park Hospital.

Willie was born on June 20, 1953 in Orlando, FL, the middle daughter of her late parents, Willie and Mary (Smith) Hodges. On February 26, 1979, she was married to Benjamin Kusimo. She was a 37 year employee for the Frito Lay company before retiring in 2016.

She loved watching the Food Network and cooking with new recipes. Willie also enjoyed watching game shows, Family Feud being her favorite. She had a zest for life through traveling. One of her favorite places was the beach, where she would take long walks. Willie enjoyed several cruises to many of the Caribbean Islands, and traveled to several states and National Parks. She even fulfilled her dream of visiting Africa.

She will be remembered for always “keeping it real” and saying exactly how she felt. Her love, generosity, and charisma will be missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on forever.

Besides her husband of 43 years, Benjamin of Winter Park, Willie is survived by her children, daughter, Lola Kusimo of Orlando, son, Tosin Kusimo of Winter Park, daughter, Dele Kusimo of Orlando, and daughter, and Sade Kusimo of Winter Park; her four grandchildren, Layla, Mya, Gavin, and Cameron; four siblings, Linda Hodges, Glenda Lemones, Jacquelyn Bradway, David Hodges; and nieces and her nephew.

Visitation is Friday, November 11, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL.

Private interment will be in Queen of Angels Cemetery, Winter Park, FL.
