Detours, road closures in downtown Orlando due to several large events

A series of road closures and detours will be in place in downtown Orlando this weekend as multiple large events take place throughout the area.

According to a press release from the city, on March 12, a half-dozen large scale events will close roads and create additional traffic and congestion downtown. Those events include an Orlando City Soccer match, a concert by Billy Joel, and a performance by The Celtic Tenors, among others.

The city is encouraging visitors to plan routes and parking ahead of time in order to anticipate any unforeseen delays. Alternate forms of transportation, such as LYMMO, scooter and bike share, can assist patrons in getting to their end location. Additionally, attendees heading to Camping World Stadium will have the option to take a free shuttle to the stadium.

Detour signs will be clearly posted before and along detour routes.
