Sanford teenager killed in crash on I-4

A 19-year-old Sanford woman was killed after attempting to change lanes on I-4 this past weekend.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling eastbound on I-4 in a 2009 Nissan Altima near mile marker 94 in Seminole County on Saturday around 10:15 p.m.

The woman was traveling on the inside lane of the highway and attempted to change lanes to the center lane. The right side of her vehicle struck the left side of a semi-truck being driven by a 45-year-old Orlando man.

After striking the truck, the woman’s vehicle then hit a 2007 Honda Accord, according to law enforcement authorities.

The woman was transported to Orlando Health where she later died from her injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
