5-year-old child, three others from Orlando killed in Lake County crash

Three adults from Orlando and one child were killed after their vehicle left CR 561 and struck a large tree in Lake County.

The incident took place just after midnight on Wednesday, June 8 near the intersection of County Road 561 and Florida Boys Ranch Road. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old Orlando man was driving a 2008 Dodge Durango southbound on CR 561, just south of Florida Boys Ranch Road.

For unknown reasons, the driver failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and ran off the roadway onto the east grass shoulder, crashing into a large tree.

The driver, and two adult passengers, a 48-year-old Orlando man and a 23-year-old Orlando woman, were all not wearing seatbelts. The 5-year-old girl was also not restrained in a child car seat, according to the report.

All four occupants were pronounced deceased on scene.
