John Benton Hall

John Benton Hall, age 59, born November 22nd, 1962, went to be with the Lord June 26, 2022. John was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Hall. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Billingsley; brother Mark Hall; his beloved wife of 33 years Melony Hall; and his cherished children, Gavin and Abigail Hall, the lights of his world. John loved his family deeply and was the rock we all depended on.

John was a successful financial planner for AIG Valic Services. In both his professional and personal life, he interacted and cared deeply for the people around him. He touched many lives with his generous, joyful, and kind spirit.

John was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and never missed a Buckeye game, knowing that every year was THE year to get a new Championship hat. He was a passionate lover of music in all genres, especially Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. He was best known for regularly sharing every tune of music he found with others, and had a natural ability to always find the perfect song for any situation and person, good or bad. John’s favorite memories included annual trips to Lake Norris, spending time on the lake floating with and loving his family.

Toward the later parts of his life, John embraced his new hobbies of traveling the world with his wife, and fishing the Atlantic with his close friends.

John was strong in his faith. His faith was reflected by his love and kindness toward others.

“To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die.” – Thomas Campbell

John will always live in our hearts.

But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself. -Philippians 3:20-21
