Santorini Greek Cuisine Restaurant in DeLand was recently recognized as one of the best restaurants in the sunshine state.
The restaurant ranked 87th on Yelp’s Top 100 Florida Restaurants, joining multiple others in and around the Orlando area.
Owned and operated by Manny and Agata Politis, the restaurant has occupied its space at 136 N. Woodland Boulevard in downtown Deland for over a decade and serves up classic Greek favorites.
The lunch and dinner menus offer multiple appetizers including spanakopita, dolmades, and hummus, and entrees range from gyro platters to lamb shanks, with a variety of different meat and fish dishes in between.
That includes the Athenian Chicken, which features a chicken breast stuffed with spinach and feta baked in a garlic, lemon, and olive oil sauce.
Classic, Greek desserts like baklava and galaktoboureko, which is semolina custard baked in phyllo.Â
The restaurant joins dozens others that have been recognized in Orlando for their cuisine offerings.
Earlier this year, four Orlando-area restaurants were each awarded a Michelin star as part of the first round of stars ever awarded in Florida. Multiple other establishments were recognized by Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list as having great food in addition to offering great value.
Santorini is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. It is closed on Sunday and Monday. For more information about the business, visit the Santorini Greek Cuisine Restaurant website.
