Michael Barry Swindle was called home on June 18, 2022, at the age of 77 in Altamonte Springs FL. Born in Palm Beach FL on December 31, 1944, he was the oldest of 5 children. Raised in Pensacola FL, he left to attend college at The University of Tennessee. After a brief tenure with the US Army at Ft. Dix, and as a member of Office of Staff Judges Advocate (JAG), he returned to UT and completed his Law degree in 1974. A longtime member of the TN and FL Bar, he early on made his way to the Orlando area, where he practiced law for the remainder of his career. Michael was a member of the Rotary Club of Orlando and All Saints Episcopal Church (in Winter Park, Florida).

Michael was preceded in death by both parents, brother James D. Swindle, and wife Laurel S. Swindle. He leaves behind brothers John C. Swindle, William T. Swindle, sister Peggy Kay (Robert) Ellison, special friend Carin Aubrey, and a collection of nephews, nieces, family and lifelong friends.

Consistent since his birth, Michael would be the last to show up at most events but could always be counted on when needed. Those who knew him the best would describe him as a true Southern Gentleman, and staunch supporter of tradition. He preferred cool Tennessee mornings and cheering for his beloved Tennessee Volunteers (especially on the 3rd Saturday of October). He also enjoyed spirited discussions on most topics, especially those regarding the “War Between the States”, of which he could be described as a scholar. Michael will be most remembered for the lifetime he spent helping others when they were most in need.

A celebration of his life will be held on July 15, 2022, at 10 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church of Winter Park (338 East Lyman Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789).
