Erik D. Braun, age 50, passed away unexpectedly July 24, 2022 in Winter Garden,Florida. Erik was born in Gainesville, Florida to Susan (Crandall) Braun and the late Michael A. Braun,Sr. He was the third of their five children: Michael A. Braun,Jr., Robin St. Denis, Adam Braun, and Kristen Russell.
He leaves behind his faithful wife of 27 years, Tori (Wills) Braun and their four beloved children: Esther, Robert, Emma, and Chloe.
Erik graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics and received a Master’s of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Erik served the church as a youth pastor and worship pastor before becoming the senior pastor at Four Oaks Community Church located in Tallahassee, Florida. Altogether, he served the church for over 20 years. He truly loved ministry, teaching the Bible and leading others to know and love Jesus Christ. Later, Erik was called into public service and continued serving his family and church. In 2019, Erik began working as Chief Administrative Officer at Florida Virtual School which caused him to relocate his family to Winter Garden,Florida. He had a passion to lead and help people throughout each of his careers whether it was his church community or growing Florida Virtual School.
Erik always enjoyed people. His larger-than life personality captured a room. His impersonations, his jokes, and his storytelling abilities always drew in an audience and brought levity to any situation. His fun-loving spirit and impactful ministry will be missed by many.
All who remember him are invited to attend a memorial service at 4 PM on August 6, 2022 at Celebration Community Church in Kissimmee, Florida.
