Bar Louie was forced to temporarily close its location next to the University of Central Florida last week after a health inspector cited multiple violations.
The restaurant, which is located at 4100 North Alafaya Trail in the Plaza on University, was forced to close on Wednesday, August 3, and Thursday, August 4, after a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited a total of 16 violations over two inspections.
During the first inspection on Wednesday, approximately 65 flying insects were spotted throughout the restaurant. In addition to insects, a stop sale was issued for multiple items that were kept above the appropriate temperature, including pico, queso fresco, and cherry tomatoes, among others.
The following day, additional roaches and flying insects were found and the restaurant was not permitted to reopen until a third inspection was conducted later that day.
