The first standing sushi bar in Central Florida is now open in Orlando.
Located at 728 N Thornton Avenue in the Mills 50 District, Edoboy began taking reservations just weeks ago at its new location, which is one of only a handful across the state of Florida.
The 8-person standing sushi bar is the creation of Sean “Sonny” Nguyen, whose DOMU & Tori Tori projects have been well received by the community.
Edoboy is led by chefs Tyler Inthavongsa and Francis Varias, and features a menu inspired by Ngyuen’s travels with his wife through Japan, providing high quality sushi at reasonable prices in an intimate environment.
The restaurant only works by reservation and releases a schedule of available time slots every Monday at 12:00 p.m. for the coming week. It does not accept walk-ins. Each time slot is a one-hour period, and orders are limited to a maximum of 12 pieces of sushi and/or handrolls.
Edoboy joins dozens of other restaurants in Orlando that have opened or are planning to open this year, including multiple spots in the Mills 50 District.
Among those is Plantees, which opened its vegan burger and shake shop in May. That list also includes bb.q Chicken, which opened a new Korean fried chicken location at 1246 E. Colonial Drive.
