A pizza and pasta restaurant was forced to temporarily close its Lake Mary location after a health inspector cited nearly a dozen health code violations.
Papa Joe’s, which is located at 4205 W Lake Mary Boulevard, was forced to close on Wednesday, August 17, after a food health inspector with the Florida Department of Business cited 11 health code violations, including 3 considered high priority.
Among the high priority violations was the presence of roach activity. According to the report, the inspector found 9 roaches around the kitchen, including six on the prep table under a slicer.
In addition, toxic substances were properly stored and a butcher table had a mold-like substance or slime build up.
The restaurant was reinspected on August 18 and was permitted to reopen, despite requiring a follow up inspection on Friday, August 19.
