A 43-year-old Orlando woman was killed after the vehicle in which she was riding as a passenger was rear-ended in Volusia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place just before 5 a.m. on Sunday, October 23, near the intersection of U.S. 92 and West Parkway.
The woman, who has not been identified per FHP policy, was riding in a Scion being driven by a 38-year-old DeLand woman. The Scion was traveling westbound on U.S. Hwy 92, directly in front of a Toyota Corolla being driven by a 22-year-old DeLand woman.
As the Scion attempted to slow down, the Corolla failed to slow and collided with the rear of the Scion near the road’s intersection with West Parkway.
The 43-year-old Orlando woman was transported to the Halifax Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
