Former Belle Isle mayor asking for volunteers to help demolish dock, boathouse

The former mayor of Belle Isle is asking local residents to help he and his wife demolish their dock and boathouse that was destroyed during the last two hurricanes.

Former mayor Mo Rigante is asking volunteers to gather on Saturday, November 19 at his home in Belle Isle to help dispose of debris created by Hurricanes Nicole and Ian.

“This is not safe to leave and there is lots of debris in the lake, an example of why lake conditions are not totally safe yet,” said Belle Isle Mayor Nick Fouraker in a social media post.
