The quarterbacks have been announced for the Orlando Guardians, the new XFL team that will kick off its inaugural season on February 18, 2023.
Head Coach Terrell Buckley announced that Quinten Dormady and Deondre Francois will play quarterback for the team when its new season begins at Camping World Stadium next year.
“These are two great signal-callers coming to Orlando,” said Buckley. “Deondre is a hometown Orlando kid who’s a scheme-versatile quarterback with the ability to do it all. He’s played in pro-style offenses and spread-based offenses. He throws a great ball and brings a winning mentality.”
Francois was the starting quarterback at Florida State University for multiple years before he was dismissed by the team in 2019. He played in the Fan Controlled Football (FCF) league for two years before making the transition to the XFL.
Dormady spent time at multiple colleges and played in the Canadian Football League for a brief stint.
“Quinten is a big, physical quarterback who can sling the ball and has a lot of upside. His versatility and ability to dissect defenses is pretty special. We’re looking forward to watching them compete and continue to develop,” said Buckley.
The Guardians will begin playing at Camping World Stadium, which is located 1 Citrus Bowl Place, in February 2023, with tickets starting at $20. Deposits for season tickets, which come with exclusive benefits, are being accepted at through the XFL website.
