The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is accepting applications from Orange County residents for its second round of funding.
The D-SNAP benefits program opened on Monday, December 5, and will stay open through Wednesday, December 7.
D-SNAP provides assistance for individuals and families impacted by Hurricane Ian and who are not currently receiving food assistance benefits through the regular Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP).
Pre-registration is required by all applicants seeking to qualify. Residents can then conduct a phone interview through the D-SNAP Call Center or visit a D-SNAP event for an on-site interview. Phone interviews are encouraged to help expedite the service to eligible households.
For pre-registration, officials are asking residents to visit the D-SNAP webpage. After applying online, the public should call 888-348-0408 or 855-278-7136 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST to schedule a phone interview. Officials are asking the public with last names from A-K to call the hotline on Monday, while those with last names beginning L-Z should contact the hotline on Tuesday, December 6. All residents, regardless of last name, may contact the organization on Wednesday, December 7.
