A 61-year-old Melbourne man was killed after his vehicle exited Interstate 10 and collided head-on with a large tree.
The fatal accident took place on Monday, December 5, at around 8:50 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was traveling in a sport utility vehicle west on Interstate 10 when he began exiting at the U.S. Highway 41 exit. The SUV failed to negotiate the right-hand curve and exited the exit ramp onto the grass shoulder, colliding head-on with a large tree.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
