Police investigating shooting at Altamonte Springs apartment that left one dead

The Altamonte Springs Police Department is currently investigating the shooting death of an individual inside a local apartment.

Officers responded to an apartment on Ballard Street in the city of Altamonte Springs on Tuesday, December 20, at around 4:33 a.m. after receiving a call from an individual who had been shot.

Upon arrival, crews from ASPD and the Seminole County Fire Department immediately began providing emergency aid to the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

Detectives say the investigation is currently active, but that they do not believe there is a threat to the community.
