Taglish closing last of Filipino-American restaurants in Orlando area

A popular Filipino-American restaurant will serve its last burger this weekend as its final location closes its doors for good.

Taglish will officially close its last restaurant at Henry’s Depot Food Hall in Sanford on Saturday, December 31.

“We would like to thank all of the amazing guests that supported our vision throughout these years. We are honored to share our representation of fil-am cuisine and look forward to continuing to share our culture in the future,” reads a statement issued through the restaurant’s social media.

Owned and operated by chef Mike Collantes, Taglish got its start three years ago at the Lotte Plaza Market in west Orlando and expanded into multiple locations across the area, including one other in the University of Central Florida commons.

In June, Collantes was awarded a Michellin star for his work at Soseki, a Japanese restaurant that provides a modern take on omakase.

Taglish served up modern, Filipino-inspired American fare including burgers, chicken sandwiches, and barbecue. For more information on the restaurant, Chef Collantes, Soseki, or his other projects, visit the Taglish linktree.
