Vehicle fire brings traffic to a halt on SR 417

A vehicle fire brought traffic to a halt on a stretch of State Road 417 on Monday.

On January 16, Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire on State Road 417. Engine 35 and multiple firefighters were able extinguish the flames and take the fire under control within minutes.

Emergency personnel say that no injuries were sustained by any of the vehicles occupants.

Although they peaked during the summer months, vehicle fires have occurred constantly over the past several months all around the tri-county area.

The growing list includes incidents in Kissimmee, Oviedo, Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Maitland, and Orlando.
