Scammers posing as Orange County health officials

The Florida Department of Health in Orange County is warning residents against a new telephone scam wherein scammers are posing as health county officials.

On Wednesday, health officials issued a statement warning the public that they have been made aware of the new phone scam, which follows months of similar scams among local law enforcement agencies and the Internal Revenue Service.

“Please know, DOH-Orange would never contact the public and request private information,” reads a statement from the department.

Anyone who has been contacted by a potential scammer should report the incident through the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Fraud Alerts webpage.
