Shooting in Apopka leaves one dead, police investigating

Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that took place in Apopka on Friday morning that left one man dead.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1300 block of South Highland Avenue in reference to a shooting at around 9:42 a.m. on February 17.

Upon arrival, deputies found a man in his 20s who had been shot. The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is in its early stages and officials have not released any additional information.
