A 51-year-old Orlando man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Colonial Drive.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Thursday, March 2, at around 8:50 p.m.
A 37-year-old man from Sebastian was driving a Dodge SUV eastbound on Colonial Drive, approaching County Road 13.
At the same time, the pedestrian began attempting to cross Colonial Drive from north to south. The report indicates that the man did not see the vehicle approaching and, as a result, he was struck.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The fatal accident involving a pedestrian follows months of similar incidents.
Last weekend, a 29-year-old mother was killed and her 2-year-old boy was critically injured after both were hit while crossing Colonial Drive.
