Dozens of golf professionals will participate in a new tour’s first stop in the Orlando area since its inception last year.
LIV Golf Orlando tees off on Friday, March 31 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, which is located at 16301 Phil Riston Way in Winter Garden. The three-day tournament will culminate on Sunday, April 2.
Reigning British Open Champion Cam Smith, as well as Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, and Brooks Koepka join a star-studded field of participants competing for a $4 million top prize. In total, the event will feature a $25 million prize purse, with the runner up getting $2.125 million, and third place and fourth place both making over $1 million.
Unlike its rival in the PGA tour, LIV Golf does not feature a cut at any point during competition. That means that all 48 golfers in the field will advance through all three rounds. Additionally, each round features a shotgun start, wherein all competitors tee off at the same time on different holes.
Last year, most LIV Golf events lasted between four and a half and six hours.
Ground passes to the event begin at $39, with staggered pricing for access to the Birdie Shack, Galley Club, and Club 54, the tour’s exclusive access pass that allows visitors to, among other things, watch athletes on the practice round before the match.
