A cocktail bar planning to open in downtown Orlando will provide a unique listening experience for record and music enthusiasts alike.
Proper is currently building out a new listening lounge at 112 South Orange Avenue, in between EVE and SideBar in downtown Orlando. The business plans to open its doors in April, although no specific date has been announced.
Although it will serve up craft cocktails similar to its neighbors, unlike its counterparts downtown, Proper will offer listening experiences through HiFi and LoFi turntables for those looking to explore the world of vinyl. The lounge will also feature a variety of local DJs and performers who will provide a musical backdrop for visitors.
The business is owned by The V Group, which also operates Gitto’s Pizza, Room 22, Novelty at 101 Hanson’s Shoe Repair, BauHaus, and SideBar.
Proper joins an ever-changing landscape of bars and restaurants that call downtown Orlando home. Over the past year, multiple well-known establishments have closed their doors and been replaced by new concepts.
Last June, High Tide replaced Latitudes at its Church Street location, which had stood for over two decades. Next door, 1Up Orlando celebrated the opening of its new arcade themed venue just a couple months later. One more door down, High-T is currently working on a new, Alice in Wonderland-themed cocktail bar.
Just up the road, Parlay, Bellhop, and Fixtion all celebrated grand openings over the past year.
In addition to the bars, downtown has also seen multiple taco restaurants open recently including Taco Kat, Tacos My Guey, and Solita Tacos and Margaritas, which opened in December at the former home of Wahlburger’s.
Even further up Orange Avenue, Stemma Craft Coffee, Pup’s Pub, and Huey Magoo’s all opened new locations within the past year.
