Jeff’s Bagel Run expanding nationwide in partnership with local investment firm

A locally owned and operated bagel shop will soon begin offering its product on a national stage thanks to a new partnership with a local investment firm.

Jeff’s Bagel Run, which was founded by Jeff and Danielle Perera, has joined forces with 1337 Capital in an effort to expand its footprint throughout Central Florida. According to a statement from 1337 Capital, which is led by Justin Wetherill, the partnership is looking to add at least four additional stores in the region by the end of 2023.

The Pereras moved to Central Florida in 2016 and in 2019, Jeff transitioned to being a stay-at-home dad and began working on a recipe for a New York style bagel. After several months of experimentation, Jeff perfected his recipe and began sharing his bagels with friends and family.

The couple began selling bagels online, at markets, and opened their first brick and mortar location in Ocoee in 2021. Last July, Jeff’s Bagel Run opened its second location in College Park.

By partnering with 1337 Capital, the brand hopes to “reach new heights and bring its signature bagels to customers across the nation.”

Wetherill was a co-founder of uBreakiFix prior to founding 1337 Capital. Since it was founded, the popular cellphone repair store has grown to over 700 locations throughout North America.

“Since stepping back from the day to day at uBreakiFix, I have had the opportunity to be picky and work on projects that really get me excited,” said Wetherill, who is also the president of 1337 Capital. “When I met the team at Jeff’s Bagel Run, it checked all the boxes and I knew I had to find a way to be involved. Jeff and Danielle have built a beloved brand in the Orlando community and I look forward to partnering with them to bring it to other communities.”

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with Justin and the 1337 Capital team to continue to build our brand,” said the Pereras. “We’ve always been passionate about sharing our love for bagels, and this partnership will help us realize our dream of bringing Jeff’s Bagel Run experience to communities all over the country.”
