William David Lance Sr., 71, entered the gates of Heaven from Orlando, FL, on Tuesday April 11, 2023.
David was very proud that he was a native of Orlando. He was born at Orange Memorial Hospital and graduated from Oak Ridge High School, class of 1970. He also received degrees from Valencia and Rollins College.
After graduating from high school, David started his dream job as a firefighter which began at the Holden Heights Fire Department in Orange County. When he retired from the GOAA Fire Department, at the Orlando International Airport, he held the rank of lieutenant.
David is survived by his 3 children, William D. Lance, Jr.; Rebecca L. Boisselle (Brent); Ronola L. McLaughlin; his 2 granddaughters Alex Lance and Elizabeth Lance; and his brother Bobby Lance (Cindy). He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, C.C. Lance; his mother Sarah E. Blair; his 2 brothers Ralph Lance and Tommy Lance; and his sister, Betsy Lance.
Services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023 at Belle Isle Community Church located at 731 Fairlane Ave. Belle Isle, FL 32809.
Visitation starts at 11:30am followed by service at 1:00pm. Procession to Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
