William Fred Moran

William Fred Moran, age 81, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at his home in Orlando.

He was born on October 11, 1941, in San Juan, PR; one of eight children born to his late parents, Victor Fred Santos and Maria Moran. He and his five brothers and two sisters grew up in San Juan, where William enlisted in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War from 1964 – 1967. After his time in the military and other events in his life, he met his wife, Rafaela Aponte, with whom he would spend 50 wonderful years together. They came to Orlando in 1994, and William found work with HMS Host at the Orlando International Airport. He would spend almost 30 years with them before he retired at the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, one-of-a-kind father-in-law, caring grandfather, and doting great-grandfather. William was a hard-working man who had a love of music and was a very talented dancer. Even though William was dealt a hard card in life during his childhood and adolescence, he always saw the good in people, made you smile, and had an encouraging anecdote to share. William loved collecting classic car models, playing video games, and always had a project he was working on. Throughout his life, William developed a very special relationship with God, and anyone who knew him could see it. The love and devotion he felt for his wife Rafaela was truly something special and could be taken out of a fairy tale book.

Besides his loving wife and companion of 50 years, Rafaela, he is survived by his two daughters, Janette Lopez and her husband, Michael Perez, of Groveland, FL, and Zannia Fred of Orlando; his son, Iank Fred of Coast, NC; seven grandchildren, Jeanette N. Martinez, Adrianna Calero, Bianca Bonilla, Yamil Bonilla, Genesis Perez, Daianis Fred, and Ianfernie Fred; and two great-grandchildren, Giszelle Hernandez, and Anaya Hernandez.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando.

Visitation with the family will precede the service on Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
