Kevin Ray Higgins

Kevin Ray Higgins, 60 of Deltona, Fl passed away May 3, 2023 at Halifax Hospice after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Kevin was born March 3, 1963 in Fort Ord, CA to Gerald and Barbara (Cogswell) Higgins.

Kev will be remembered as a kind, caring, loving, wise, wonderful man that loved his family and friends. He had no enemies in life, a stranger soon became a friend, he enjoyed helping others and was the first to offer a hand up.
Kevin worked in the HVAC industry for 39 years, his last 30 years with Mid Fl A/C in Debary, Fl until cancer forced early retirement in 2013.

Kev played baseball as a child at Soldier Creek (5 Point) in Longwood and continued to coach at Deltona Little League during the 1990’s. Kevin loved the outdoors and the challenges it brought whether setting his sights on a 12 point or dropping a line in hopes of hooking a keeper, his adversary was always taken with utmost skill and compassion. He was most comfortable on the water boating, fishing, shrimping, free diving for lobsters or soaking up the sun.

Kevin leaves behind his wife Patricia (Cowsert) Higgins; daughter Sandrina (John ) Hill; son Timothy (Brandi ) Locklear; His loving grandchildren Brent, Emma, Jayden, Caleb, Aiden, Savannah, Leah and Connor Ray; Sisters: Roxanne (Scott ) LeDuc and Debi (Bobby) Massey, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family/friends.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Gerald & Barbara Higgins, father-in-law Ted Cowsert, brother David Higgins, nieces Stacy (Burkhardt) Brown, Barbie Burkhardt, Barbie Higgins and nephew Keith Higgins.
