Colonial Drive briefly shut down during talks with suspect, police say

A stretch of West Colonial Drive was shut down early Saturday morning after Orlando police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance and had to negotiate with a suspect.

Orlando Police Department officers were called at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, to the Howard Vernon Motel at 600 West Colonial Drive after receiving calls regarding a domestic disturbance. The victim who called told police that a suspect had threatened her with a gun.
