A 42-year-old woman and her boyfriend were brutally stabbed to death in their apartment near Disney by the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who was caught traveling to a southern border state.
On Sunday, May 14, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 10500 block of Bastille Lane at around 6 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. Upon arrival, deputies found Yohanna Colmenares and Alex Quintanilla, 40, suffering from stab wounds.
The couple was transported to a local hospital, where they died from their injuries.
Police were able to identify 39-year-old Manuel Alejandro Carrasco-Camacaro as the lead suspect. According to authorities, Carrasco-Camacaro allegedly entered the home on Bastille Lane early Sunday morning. While he was in the home, he stabbed both Colmenares and Quintanilla.
Detectives believed that Carrasco-Camacaro was traveling to a southern border state and were aware of his ties to Austin, Texas. Law enforcement in Texas was made aware that he may be in the area and were put on lookout.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office eventually found Carrasco-Camacaro and arrested him on Monday.
