Kil Young Ku

Kil Young Ku, 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on May 4, 2023, in Orlando, Florida. Kil Young was born on July 11, 1942 in Jin Ju, South Korea.

Kil Young graduated from Jin Ju High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Seoul National University. He started his career as a banker at Korea Industrial Bank, eventually working at Samsung Corporation in South Korea and Burma (Myanmar). He then worked as a General Manager for textile manufacturers in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, before retiring to Orlando, Florida.

Kil Young married Hae Ja Ku in Seoul, Korea in 1969. The couple has 2 children, Joonmo Ku, and Joon Hee Ku Ahn. Kil Young was best known for traveling, was an avid golfer, hiker and tennis player. He was a lover of great food and music. On September 25, 2014 Kil Young became a proud American Citizen. Kil Young was an active member of Harvest Ministry, Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando.

Kil Young was preceded in death by his parents, Yang Soo – younger brother and Kil Boon – younger sister.

He is survived by Hae Ja Ku – wife, Joonmo Ku – son, Guy Burkholder – son-in-law, Joon Hee Ku Ahn – daughter, Ik Jo Ahn – son-in-law, Elise Ahn – granddaughter, and Claire Ahn – granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, May 19, 2023 at a private ceremony.
