Missing man found dead in car submerged in retention pond

A man who was reported missing by his family after they hadn’t heard from him since Monday was found dead in a car submerged in a local retention pond.

Jose Rafael Malave Lebron, 36, was found by deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, May 19 at a retention pond at the intersection of Waters Edge Drive and Lost Creek Court in Osceola County.

Lebron was last seen on Monday, May 15, at about 3 a.m. driving his 2013 Black Cadillac ATS (pictured below). Family had been concerned for his well-being as he had not contacted them since then.

“Tragically, Jose Rafael Malave Lebron was found deceased inside of the vehicle,” reads a statement from OCSO.

Lebron, who turned 36 in March, was a well known barbershop owner in the Kissimmee area.
