Vehicle fires rage in Seminole as first signs of summer

Seminole County Fire Department crews were called to the scenes of multiple vehicle fires over the weekend, following a trend that most often occurs during the summer.

During the first incident, SCFD crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire at the Circle K gas station located at 91 State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, next to Interstate 4.

Later that evening, at around 9:13 p.m., crews responded to another vehicle fire call on Moswood Circle in Winter Springs.

That vehicle fire was contained to an engine compartment and was quickly put out by two responding units. No injuries were reported in the second fire as well.

Last year, several vehicle fires sprung up all around the tri-county area, mostly occurring during the summer months. According to the National Fire Protection Association, highway vehicle fires are most common from May through August, peaking in July.
