The Orlando Police Department is inviting all Portuguese-speaking residents to take part in a special, upcoming citizens academy.
The Portuguese-Speaking Citizens Police Academy will take place over the course of five Tuesdays from August 1 to August 29. Each class is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Orlando Police Headquarters, which is located at 1250 West South Street.
The five-week course aims to foster relationships between the police department and the community in a classroom environment. Topics include introductions to OPD’s Brazilian police officers, tours of the International Drive and Crime Scene Units, a SWAT Demonstration, and a Virtra 4K Simulator Interactive Session, among others.
