DeLand police have arrested a 17-year-old who they believe was behind a shooting that injured a man over the weekend.
Jordan Gardner was arrested by DeLand Police Department officers this week in connection with a shooting that spawned from an argument the night prior.
According to police, the shooting took place directly outside of a home located at 604 E. Division Avenue on Sunday, May 28. The shooting stemmed from an argument between several parties over a domestic disturbance that occurred on Saturday, May 27.
Officers were dispatched to the scene of the shooting on Sunday at around 2:19 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with a single gunshot wound to his upper body. That man was airlifted to a local hospital. His status was not provided by police.
During their investigation, the DPD Criminal Investigations Division developed probable cause to charge Gardner. He was arrested without incident at the original location of the shooting and was transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center before he was transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Gardner faces multiple charges, included aggravated battery and obstructing justice.
Police say that they cannot provide any additional details because of the ongoing nature of the investigation and the involvement of a juvenile.
