Timothy E. McCrohan, 91 years of age, passed away on June 10, 2023, in Largo, Florida. Tim was born in 1932, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Michael and Kathleen McCrohan. Tim was the eldest of two children and was preceded in death by his sister Theresa.
Tim attended Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx, New York and later attended Iona College, New Rochelle, NY. Tim enlisted in the Navy and was Honorably Discharged when he joined the Irish Christian Brothers Order. During his 22+ years as a Brother, he taught religious education and history at Iona College and high schools in Michigan, California and Newfoundland, Canada to name a few. After retiring, Tim went on to become a librarian at the New York Library and later at the Fort Lee, New Jersey, Library.
Tim lived in New York City for many years before moving to Fort Lee, New Jersey for several years. Tim eventually moved to Dunedin, Florida full time in 2015 to be near family. Tim loved to travel, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, researching family history and being with family and friends.
Tim’s loving memory will be cherished by his friends and surviving family members, cousins: Mary Ellen Denning, Meg Earhart, Avery Earhart, David Earhart, Kevin Denning, Donald Denning, Christina Wesnofske, Ricky Wesnofske, Torey Wesnofske, John Finnegan, Anna McCrohan, Patrick McCrohan and many other members of the McCrohan clan (on both sides of the pond) albeit too many to mention.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Holy Family Catholic Church 5125 S. Apopka Vineland Road Orlando, Florida 32819 with a Funeral Mass to Follow at 1:00pm. Entombment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road Gotha, Florida 34734
