Sanford police are asking the public to help identify a woman who allegedly cashed a fake check from the U.S. Department of Treasury at a local convenience store, defrauding the business of nearly $10,000.
According to the Sanford Police Department, on June 6, the woman featured in this story entered Kevin’s Corner Store, located at 2001 S French Avenue in Sanford.
During her visit, she cashed a fraudulent check from the Department of Treasury. The business that cashed the check was defrauded out of $9,517, according to SPD.
