Teen killed, another critically injured in Osceola shooting

Law enforcement authorities have identified a teenager who was killed during a shooting in Osceola County on Monday.

Asad Brinson, 18, was found dead from gunshot wounds on Monday, July 31, by Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies who were responding to reports of a shooting in the area of Tampa Avenue that evening.

Brison was located on the ground and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other victim, who has not been identified by police, was originally reported as being deceased as well. In the hours since, medical staff and officials have reported that the individual is not dead and is currently on life support with life-threatening injuries.

That man’s identity will not be disclosed by police due to the ongoing investigation.

Friends and family of Brinson, who was going to turn 19 years old in October, have taken to social media to mourn the loss of their loved one.

“My family took a loss last night. I lost another nephew, but he will always be remembered,” reads a post from Brinson’s uncle, Leon.

If you have any information that may help homicide detectives during their investigation, please contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at 407-348-2222, or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
