AEW wrestler arrested on aggravated assault charge

A wrestler who shot to fame as one of the stars of All Elite Wrestling was arrested on Friday morning on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a firearm.

Daniel Marshall Wheeler, who performs under the name “Cash Wheeler,” was arrested on Friday, August 18, by Orlando Police Department officers in connection with the warrant, which was issued on July 28.

According to court records, Wheeler’s attorney, Brice Aikens of The Umansky Law Firm, filed a notice of appearance and plea of not guilty on Thursday, August 3.

Wheeler was scheduled to appear in front of a judge in Orange County court on Friday afternoon for his first hearing.

Wheeler, 36, is a member of the AEW World Tag Team Champion group, FTR, along with Dax Harwood. He previously competed in World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring name “Dash Wilder.”

Wheeler joined AEW wrestling in May 2020. Based in Jacksonville, AEW is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the country behind WWE.
