Non-travelers can shop, eat at new Orlando airport terminal through new program

A new program will allow the non-traveling public to experience the new Terminal C at the Orlando International Airport, which features two dozen restaurants and shops, as well as technological art displays.

The Experience MCO Visitor Pass Program will allow approved guests to use the post-security amenities at the airport’s Terminal C, which celebrated its grand opening last September.

“Shop, dine, spend more time with loved ones who are flying out, choose your own adventure – how you Experience MCO is up to you,” reads a statement from the airport.

The new program will go into effect on September 1.

Potential visitors may apply online on the day of the visit or up to seven days in advance. The program requires identification verification and approval by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

If approved for entry, a visitor will receive his/her pass via email. That email may then be provided to TSA agents at the Terminal C TSA Checkpoint general screening line.

Terminal C features a large collection of shops and restaurants, as well as a bevy of technological advancements that contribute to the aesthetic and functionality of the terminal.

The terminal boasts a “Moment Vault” and “Windows on Orlando,” which are large screens that display large, imaginative scenes.

Entry for the new program is restricted to between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Visitors using the pass are required to exit the terminal by 8 p.m.

The airport says that printed passes will not be accepted, and that only digital passes will be permitted. Experience MCO visitors are also subject to the same security regulations as passengers boarding an aircraft. Expedited screening and traveler programs like TSA PreCheck and CLEAR cannot be used with the visitor pass.
