Law enforcement authorities are still looking for the driver of a Volkswagen Passat who struck and killed a 78-year-old man while he was crossing a Kissimmee roadway.
The fatal accident occurred near the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Earle Court on Sunday, October 22, at around 4:28 a.m.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was crossing the southbound lane of Plesant Hill Road, just south of Earle Court, when the front left of an unknown vehicle struck the man.
The vehicle fled the scene and the man was pronounced deceased after emergency personnel responded to the incident.
The FHP believes the vehicle in question may have been a 2014 to 2019, gray Volkswagen Passat that would have front and left side damage. There might also be damage to the driver-side mirror, as well as the windshield, according to FHP.
