loving memory of Carol Ann Macomber. A resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida for 51 years, Carol passed away suddenly at Orlando Health at Health Central Hospital on Saturday, October 21, 2023 after suffering a heart attack earlier that week.
Carol was born on June 6, 1944 in Belleville, IL. She was predeceased by her parents, Edmond Hauck, Sr and Jane (Klipfel) Hauck and her husband, Dick Macomber.
Carol was a second generation Standardbred horse owner and avid horse racing fan. She never missed a night at her home track in Pompano Beach. She traveled near and far to watch her horses race and never missed a race Ricky was in.
Carol was her family’s rock, back bone, and support. She was always up for a good time, her bags were always packed and ready to travel with Kelly, she never said no to her friends for a lunch date or a beer at the cul-de-sac “café” with Kimmy and her neighbors, who were also her family. She had a great listening ear and understood everyone’s problems with an unfiltered response! She was very kind and giving. She loved planning and delivering toys for her annual Christmas toy drive for a local daycare in Pompano Beach.
Carol is survived by her three children, Ricky Macomber (Jamie) of Fishers, IN., Kelly Robinson (Steve), of Winter Park, FL., and Kimmy Macomber of Fort Lauderdale, FL. One brother, Eddie Hauck (Jacque) of Pompano Beach, FL. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Taylor and Blake Robinson, Nate and Aubrey Macomber and Sarah Tosten. Many nieces and nephews, Lori DePietto (Walt), Brian Hauck (Nikki), Anthony and Dominic DePietto, and Taylor Owen.
