James M Hess, age 71, passed away October 26 at ORHS. He is survived by his loving wife Carla and their 3 children, Elizabeth En Naoui (Hich), Emily Kelley (Conan), Andrew (Antonelle), and 3 grandchildren.
Jim was born in Chicopee, Mass. to Col. Walter & Elizabeth Hess. His siblings include Keron, Kerr, Michael Hess (Jackie) and Darcy Hess (Leon). He is preceded in death by his brother Stephen Hess.
As the son of a serviceman, he had 7 residences. He started his lifelong love of the Gators and graduated in 73′ and again from law school in 75′. His law career started at the firm of Driscoll, Layton & Langston. In 1985 he joined Herbert Langston to form their own law firm that went on to earn the highest rating in Martindale Hubbell. He earned many honors such as board certification and admittance to the US Supreme Court. Jim was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and he fought the disease with optimistic bravery never losing his sense of humor as he continued to work full time.
Visitation will be held at DeGusipe Funeral Home November 7, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Funeral Services November 8th, at 11am at Good Shepherd Church Orlando.
