Motorcyclist ejected from vehicle, struck by Tesla in fatal accident

A 24-year-old Orlando motorcyclist was killed after he was thrown from his vehicle into the roadway, where he was fatally struck by a Tesla.

The accident took place at around 8:08 p.m. on Friday, November 3, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was riding his 2016 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on State Road 535/Winter Garden Vineland Road, just north of Chase Road.

As he was attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, the man failed to maintain the southbound lane and veered off the left side of the roadway.

The motorcycle collided with a curb and the rider was thrown from the vehicle, landing in the outside, northbound travel lane of SR 535. There, he was struck by a 2023 Tesla Model 3 that was traveling northbound on the roadway.

The motorcyclist was transported to Winter Garden AdventHealth Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Tesla, a 40-year-old man from Windermere, was not injured in the crash.
