Orange County officials will host a groundbreaking ceremony this week to celebrate the start of construction on a new college campus.
Orange County Public School officials will gather at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, to celebrate the beginning of construction at the future site of the Orange Technical College East Campus.
The groundbreaking event will feature multiple guest speakers, including OTC-East students, OCPS Superintendent Dr. Maria F. Vazquez, as well as Board of Education Vice-Chair Angie Gallo.
The new campus will be located at 11550 Lokanotosa Trail, across from University High School in east Orlando. The location is over ten miles away from the college’s previous location at 901 W Webster Avenue in Winter Park.

The project began earlier this year with the demolition of one of the high school’s former buildings. The new, 3-story building will span 99,500 square feet and is designed to accommodate 1,000 students.
When completed, the new building will feature five traditional classrooms, 18 computer labs, specialized technology labs, and a record studio, among other amenities.
