Two individuals from Osceola County and one from California have been arrested in connection with the death of a 27-year-old Apopka man who died after ingesting a counterfeit Percocet pill that was pressed with fentanyl.

During a press conference on Thursday, Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma announced that three suspects have been charged with first degree murder in the death of Tristan Buttrum, who was found deceased in his bedroom in January.

After Buttrum passed, police began an investigation into his death upon finding a counterfeit Percocet pill pressed with fentanyl on his nightstand.

During their investigation, authorities uncovered a “web of drug-related crimes that spanned multiple states,” according to a statement from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

In October, the following three individuals were indicted:

  1. Bradley Hunter, 26, Kissimmee
  2. Vincete Diaz, 22, St. Cloud
  3. Andres Spancky Raya, 28, Los Angeles

According to SCSO, Hunter and Diaz routinely traveled to California to purchase “illegal drugs from Raya.” The individuals would allegedly ship the drugs back to the Central Florida area.

Authorities learned of at least one alleged purchase of 40,000 pressed fentanyl pills made in mid-December 2022.
